I found out that a short story I wrote about the exploits of the navy destroyer that my grandfather served on during World War II is going to be published as part of a historical anthology. This story is very close to my heart. I used a letter that he received from one of his shipmates that outlined what they went through to write the piece. I wrote it as a fictional tale based on true events. Unfortunately, my grandfather passed away when I was young, so I wasn't able to talk to him about his experiences. According to my father, he didn't talk about the war and it affected him adversely. I think it helped that I served in the navy so I was able to bring to life what it was like to serve on a warship.
The anthology will be published by Historium Press and is titled, "A Walk in Their Shoes". I don't have a release date yet, but will keep you posted.
I am presently waiting for my latest novel, "Sins of Men" to be edited so that I can start querying it for publication. I love to write, so I already started on a sequel. This is my favorite part of the writing process. I just get to use my complicated brain to create something out of nothing and get lost in the journey. Even when I was younger, I liked to try to place myself in a historical event and wonder what it would have been like to live during that time.
I would love to hear from you. Are you enjoying my posts? Is there anything that you would like to know about me or my writing? Please sign up and leave your email so that I can keep you updated.
Remember to get a copy of my first novel, A COMMON MAN, if you haven't been able to yet. I love to hear responses to the book.
